Izu

The Izu Peninsula's friendly, mild climate makes it a pleasure to visit throughout the year. It has long been a resort area and offers something for everyone. Hot-spring inns clustering along the coast and following winding inland rivers are great for rest and relaxation. Outdoor activities abound, such as wind sailing and diving from Izu's beaches and hiking throughout the peninsula. Fresh seafood is a specialty here, as are more traditional foods such as wild boar.
